LUTHMAN soundability, one of Swedens biggest music resellers was started by Niclas Luthman in a single room appartmen in Vallingby/Vix, mainly to finance his dreams on building a famous studio. Luthman’s catalog is issued twice a year, in full color and presents instruments, amplifiers, software and other music equipement in 236 pages, with some focus on artists. WORLD OF WINNER’S / poker champion

HIS NAME IS MATS, Mats Rahmn, lives in Las Vix who this summer won the Bellagio Cup III No Limit Hold’em in Las Vegas with a prize moneybag filled with USD 88.740. Mats started playing poker online when he was 18 years old, years before the big Poker boom that now is rageing. He played because he liked it and was good, played long nights and succeded, later went over to tournaments in the USA where he now is in a contract with Martins Poker.

Worlds most expensive poker tournament will start tomorrow in Denmark. It’s the Kickoffpoker founded by ex-soccer player Stig Tøfting. The competitors pay € 5.000 to buy in.

WALK ON / the wild side

TOMORROW THE MAIN STREET Angermannagatan (Straits Street/BaymanSt/6th Avenue/MiniEsplanade/NewWallSt) will be opened, and on account of that I have taken a walk through and around the street tonight with the aim to do some photo documentation. The 3D picture above with the two towers (Duo DesignTowers) at Arevagen-crossing, modeled in SketchUP 3D for Google Maps, is made by P. E Riksson who I really would like to credit alot.

Avenue from the french language, means major street often with trees surrounding it. Esplanade also a french world: broad street with trees or plants in between the separated driving fields. The street is often surrounded by important buildings. Boulevarde is often used at the European continent and Esplanade in Scandinavia.

GRAND OPENING / main street

THE MAIN STREET called Angermannagatan [eng. Straits Street], named after a Swedish northen region, has been shut off for two years, a blasted out eight meter deep hole and later decked over and closed off when an underground garage was built beneath and new heated side walks layd.

Now there is hectic work everywhere on the street when work with asphalt, granite cutting and stone laying taking place. The street will be reopened for traffic and pedestrians on monday 20 August.

NOW AT LAST GERT WINGÅRDHS appreciated architecht design language is beginning to take shape and being interpretaded in the new fashion house. The first tall wall elements was rised yesterday in the fashion district destination.

THE GOLD / skatepark

THERE IS AN ADVANCED SKATE PARK, a rare phenomenon in Stockholm, skating fascilitates located in the Grimsta district. It's no admission to go there and use skateboard or inlines in the light blue ramps. Stockholm municipal gouvernment supported the construction with a grant of SEK 150.000 as a part of the ongoing city development. Youth and parents in the neighbourhood have worked with the construction that was finished in 2004. There has been conducted a competinion with pro’s and locals there.

THE END / is near

THIS FALL most of the manifestation of the architechtual design work and construction will be finished in the centre core, except for the fashion zone and the block with the new high rise buildings behind the Angermannagatan (Bayman St/New Wall St). Much of the D in the ABCD concept has been focusing on Design of physicaly large constructions, shopping artefacts, like stores, markets, warehouses (hypermarkets /superstores), a process of artefactification if you want.

Several leading architects and companies has delivered high quality design. White, A1, Wingaard, Centrumutveckling to just mention some of the actors of this game of redefining a suburban centre to a new modern more tight or dense city core for the people of the future living in this northen province.

Several destinations or zones have been focused or pinpointed. The fashion district and house, the plaza under with the floating ceeling, the movie theatre city, the food court, the food market and hypermarkets over the overdecked railway area. The main street through the city core, Angermannagatan will be opened in August and around it small shops in a new destination concept called ”Vällingby Collection” will be opened. To Vixton people will come to be amused with new high quality shopping experineces usaly found in large metropolitan cities. Vixton developes to something like a sensual intime district in a proto minimegacity.

WHAT CAN YOU DO with a lot of construction trash and junk in your living district. Daysampler Vällinby makes a video with parkouring, the art or sport of fluid moving (free running) in a urban environment, around the Vixton districts.

PROUD PEARL / tower in E!dstr

ENTERTAINMENT LIFE IN VIXTON could find it’s home in the western part/district a Entertainment district [E!dstr] with it’s manifistation in a Entertainment Design Tower, Vixton Vallingby’s pride with a copy in 1:6 scale of the tower oriental Pearl in Shanghai. Companies, amuesment fascilities, a planetarium in the top, as well as a restuarant.

The western square beneath could be projected and esteticaly cleaned up, and then named after the local passed away famous rock musician/componist Tomas ”Quorthon” Forsberg, the inventor of several musical genres/ideoms.

A walk of fame could be created on the walk from the old high school and sport complex to the subway station and Movie City. Why dont mould cheramic stars in the concrete with famous peoples signatures on.

A1 Archictects could make a crowning with iron constructions, cloth with typo-print and lighting on the Duo Design towers in the background of Regretman Street [New Wall Street/Angermannagatan] in the same fashion as was the case at the roof of the tempoary shopping fascilities that was constructed inbetween the permanent buildings of Vallingby.

THE FASHION DISTRICT is raising. In spring 2008 the zone will be finished with it’s central building with a big red back lit roof.

CITY SHOPPING / urban life

VÄLLINGBY/VIXTON is developing like a flower opening to become a modern city in full bloom with great city shopping in it’s center core, from a former existence as ordinary suburban center. The question is, isn’t it soon time for a futuristic local Apple store like this in NYC.

The marketing gurus at Ruth.se however claims that city shopping is the concept that Vixton Design City will follow for a bright future from 2008, when the new remake is completely finished to meet the world.

Maybee the small shuttles called Flexen, mainly developed and maintained for senior citizens also could be used for comfortable tourist transportation and sightseeing.

UNG08 / pre summer tour

THIS SATURDAY it was Vix time for Ung-08 Pre Summer Tour. It arrived to Kaanan Beach at 13.00. Gamezone, Streetbasket, demoband, guests and alot of other activities in the sun.

ARENA CITY / 9000 seats

A NEW ARENA CITY is planned to be constructed over the subway rails in the eastern districts of Vallingby-Vix. This uplifting project will be finished in 2014. Over decked areas with a multi indoor arena with 9.000 seats, hotels and 2000 housing units will be built. Underground subway rails are also under concideration.

The local football club Brommapojkarna that advanced to the premier series will also be a part of this project. The subject will be discussed further at Svenska Bostader’s boards meeting that will be conducted next week.

MUSIC / touch of blues

LIVE OUTDOOR CONCERT with Touch of Blues today at 11.00 at town square in front of Trappan aka The Stairway, the local Culture House.

The band with 20 years of experience perform tunes in the classic blues genre. Touch of Blues has been aired from radio stations in serval countries around the world. The bluesmen will be back in Vixson Rock City 16 june 11.00.

DEMOLITION / parking house

THE OLD PARKING HOUSE a 8 floor design from the 50-ies is now under demolition. A new underground parking solution will be built with a big housing block with high rise buildings constructed on it.

NOW AT MAY 2 the new designed and underground localisated parking facilities under Angermannagatan (Regerman Street/New Wall Street) and Arevägen (Wixton Street) be opened.

White arkitekter is the responsible company for the redesign of the center. Here is a visualisation of how the new city will look.
